Mission

Hope for Youth, Inc.’s (HYPE) mission is to empower minority, high school girls to become leaders in tech through programs that offer computer science education, technology career exposure, and opportunities to lead coding workshops both domestically and internationally.

Summary

HYPE is a non-profit organization whose programming provides minority, high school girls with access and exposure to computer science and greater technology in an effort to increase diversity, opportunity, and mentorship for women of color in the fields. HYPE students are trained in computing and soft skills to help develop their ability to think critically, problem solve, and succeed in environments of higher education and corporate structure. The students are also given an opportunity to teach the skills they’ve learned through programming to students abroad on an international experience.

Experience

Kristina received a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Prairie View A&M University in 2006.
