Providence Missionary Baptist Church - Urban Farm Ministry
The Mission of Providence Missionary Baptist Church’s Urban Farm Ministry is to eliminate economic barriers and create incentives for urban farmers to buy real property so they can live and grow in food deserts or any neighborhood of their choice and enjoy the benefit of sustainable home and land ownership.
The Providence Missionary Baptist Church’s Urban Farm Ministry partners with local farmers to grow fresh produce and service their communities. The project ran an Urban Farm and set up a system where members of the Herring Road community could access the high-quality food at little to no cost. The Urban Farm Ministry also offered garden tours and trainings for community members to build beds and practice sustainable urban agriculture.
