Healthy, nutritious food is grown from healthy, nutrient-rich soil. When food scraps are sent to landfills, those precious nutrients are wasted, starving our soils from the necessary organic material needed to be productive and healthy.
By composting, community members and businesses close the nutrient loop by returning those nutrients back into the soil to grow more healthy food!
Join us for a happy hour workshop hosted in partnership with CompostNow to learn everything you need to know about composting and to get started with your very own compost system.
This workshop is free for CCI members and is a $5 donation (to cover our costs) for non-members.
About Our Partner
Collectively, we are a bunch of Dirt Dorks, Route Wranglers, and Soil Singers. But individually, we are farmers, artists, technologists, social workers, musicians, poets, community activists, mothers and fathers working together to reimagine food waste management and rebuild our depleted soils. Our vision is to close the loop on food waste by empowering community members and local businesses to divert their compostables from the landfill and, instead, use those nutrients to build nutrient-rich soil. Closing the loop on food waste is imperative in building healthy soil, creating resilient, local food systems, and fighting climate change.
