The Atlanta Workforce believes that a skilled workforce contributes to better economic development, public safety, affordable housing and education all around. It offers opportunities and the resources for residents to gain employment and works with business leaders to better understand current and future labor needs.
Invest Atlanta encourages investment in Atlanta’s community by attracting entrepreneurs and businesses. Their goal is to strengthen Atlanta’s economy by providing economic opportunities for its citizens.
Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs
Working to make Atlanta’s community more inclusive to immigrants and refugees, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs implements strategic community engagement to foster opportunities for those who are not yet naturalized citizens.
Mayor’s Office of Sustainability
Making Atlanta more sustainable, the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability has been a leader amongst other cities in using energy efficient programs to promote better environmental use.
Foundations Investing in Innovation
The Atlanta Chapter of the Awesome Foundation offers grants to support projects in sciences, arts, education, civic engagement, media, and entertainment. Their philanthropic giving doesn’t aim to fix systemic problems, but provide support to little ways to make the community better.
East Lake Foundation
The East Lake Foundation was created to revitalize the East Lake Meadows community in East Lake. It has turned a dangerous and poverty stricken community to a safer and more vibrant place to live. The East Lake Foundation continues to invest in programs that provide mixed-income housing, college education readiness and community wellness to help families succeed.
The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta
The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta provides investment and support for the 23-county metro Atlanta region. They offer different levels of support that reach as far as coaching support, to initiatives that promote sustainability and jobs for residents.
